Overview
George joined AHP in 2020 when the firm George W. Smith & Company, P.C. (GWSC) merged with AHP. He joined GWSC in 1986 after working for the Lansing office of Enrst & Whinney. George provides a variety of tax services to individuals, s-corporations, regular corporations, limited liability companies, not-for-profit organizations, and estates and trusts including year-end tax planning.
He is a Chartered Global Management Accountant® (CGMA®) and a memebr of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA).
Professional Education
George graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Art degree in accounting.
In the Community
George is a member of the Detroit Goodfellows/Old Newsboys and serves as treasurer on the board of directors for Meghan’s Army. He is also a tax advisor for local newsprint and television as well as an Income Tax chapter writer for World Almanac.
