At AHP, being Prepared for You means more than providing exceptional service to our clients. It also means showing up for the communities where we live and work.

A commitment to community is a core part of who we are. Each year, our offices step away from their desks and spend time volunteering with organizations making a difference throughout Michigan. During our 2026 Volunteer Days, AHP team members supported organizations addressing food insecurity, animal welfare, housing needs, agriculture, and other important community services.

Here’s a look at how our teams gave back this year.

Okemos: Supporting Catholic Charities

Our Okemos team volunteered with Catholic Charities of Ingham, Eaton, & Clinton Counties at their community garden in Lansing.

Team members helped clean and maintain the garden, harvested fresh vegetables for the organization’s food pantry, and created flower arrangements for the dining area where meals are served to community members in need.

The team also had an opportunity to tour the campus and learn more about the services Catholic Charities provides.

“We also had the opportunity to tour their campus and learn more about the services they provide to the community. As part of the tour, we learned about the types of items that are most helpful to donate, which gave us a better understanding of how we can continue to support their organization beyond the volunteer day.”
Katey Hajdu, AHP

Saginaw: Lending a Hand at Amazing Grace Animal Shelter

Our Saginaw team spent their Volunteer Day at Amazing Grace Animal Shelter, helping care for animals in need.

The team assisted with feeding the animals and cleaning the facility, with plenty of time to give some attention to a few furry friends along the way.

We are grateful for the opportunity to support an organization dedicated to caring for animals in our community.

Grand Rapids: Helping ICCF Community Homes

Our Grand Rapids office volunteered with ICCF Community Homes, where team members sorted donated clothing, organized the storeroom, and helped with outdoor weeding.

Their efforts supported ICCF Community Homes while giving our team another opportunity to make a hands-on difference in the Grand Rapids community.

Marquette: Packing Meals with Feeding America

Our Marquette team spent an afternoon volunteering with Feeding America, packing food for local individuals and families.

Their work helped support efforts to provide nutritious food to those in need, and we are proud of the team for giving their time to support their Upper Peninsula community.

Flint: Serving at the Center of Hope

Our Flint office spent its Volunteer Day distributing food goods at the Center of Hope, a nonprofit organization serving the Flint community.

Team member Brittany Porter reflected on the experience:

“The Flint Office distributed food goods at the Center of Hope, which is a not-for-profit organization in Flint, in honor of volunteer day at AHP. They provide a hot meal every day, clothes, personal essentials, home interior items, baby items, and so much more to the community. All of this is free, and everyone is welcome. They even offer showers and medical attention. This was a great experience for the Flint Office, and we were blessed to be a part of change in our community.”

Ann Arbor: Supporting The Petting Farm at Domino’s Farms

Our Ann Arbor team enjoyed an afternoon volunteering at The Petting Farm at Domino’s Farms.

Originally the Zeeb family farm dating back to 1925, The Petting Farm opened in 1984 as a tribute to Michigan farmers and the agricultural industry. Our team was honored to lend a hand and support an organization dedicated to preserving Michigan’s agricultural history while providing memorable experiences for the community.

Bloomfield Hills: Giving Back at The Farm

Our Bloomfield Hills team enjoyed a rewarding Volunteer Day at The Farm on the campus of Trinity Health Oakland in Pontiac.

Throughout the day, team members rolled up their sleeves to harvest garlic, plant melons and flowers, weed garden beds, and create beautiful flower bouquets for hospital patients.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to support our community, contribute to The Farm’s efforts, and help brighten someone’s day.

With Bloomfield Hills added, I’d also update the final paragraph to:

Prepared for Our Communities

From Ann Arbor and Bloomfield Hills to Flint, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Marquette, and Saginaw, AHP Volunteer Days give our team members an opportunity to step away from their day-to-day work, connect with their communities, and make a meaningful difference.

We are incredibly grateful to each organization that welcomed our teams and gave us the opportunity to contribute. Most importantly, we’re proud of our AHP team members for continuing to demonstrate what commitment to community looks like.

To all of the organizations making a difference in the communities we call home: thank you for everything you do.
