Chris has more than 40 years of public accounting experience and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and an MST (Master of Science in Taxation). He has extensive experience in providing tax and planning advice for individuals, closely held businesses, estates and trusts. He has niche specialties with Dental and medical practices, developers, farms and orchards and the sale of conservation easements.
Chris joined HBK as a shareholder in January of 2019 after 33 years with a national, regional firm and local firm. The last 20 years as owner of Bott & Company, P.C. Chris joined AHP when it merged with HBK in 2025.
Chris earned a Bachelor of Science in Business (Accountancy) from Ferris State University and a Masters of the Science – Taxation from Grand Valley State University.
Chris is a member of the AICPA and MICPA. He is also a member of the Estate Planning Council of Grand Traverse. Chris is a past trustee and Chair of Board of the Northwestern Michigan College, and a past member and Chair of the Executive Committee of the Michigan Community College Association.
