Carol has more than 43 years of public accounting experience serving the Upper Peninsula. She is a partner in the Marquette office, formerly Makela, Toutant, Hill, Nardi & Katona, P.C. (MTHNK). Carol is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and specializes in taxation and planning for businesses and individuals, including retirement and succession planning and other tax-related consulting services.
Carol joined MTHNK (then the Marquette office of Ernst & Whinney [now EY]) in 1980. She was promoted to senior accountant, manager, then senior manager before earning her position as a partner in MTHNK in 1992. Carol joined AHP when it merged with MTHNK.
Carol graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a major in accounting.
Carol is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA). She is a 40-year member of the Zonta Club of the Marquette Area.
