He is one of three partners in the AHP Midland office, formerly Burnside & Lang, P.C., and oversees audit engagements for not-for-profit organizations, construction companies, and governmental entities. He is a certified specialist in estate planning (CSEP).

Professional History:

Mark began his career with Burnside & Lang, P.C. in 1978. Prior to joining the accounting field, Mark spent seven years working in the construction industry. In 2002, he received the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants Public Service Award for his significant volunteer efforts within the community. Burnside & Lang was integrated into AHP in 2009.

Education:

Mark is a graduate of Saginaw Valley State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Other Activities:

Mark is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, Northeastern Michigan Estate Planning Council, and the Construction Financial Management Association. He is a member of the Midland Lions Club, Arnold Center Board of Directors, Leadership Midland Alumni Association, CBM Corp. Board of Directors, and the Delta College Planned Giving Committee. Mark is treasurer of Midland County DARE and Charles W. Howard Santa Claus School. He also coaches for the Northeast Little League and Midland Softball Association.

Mark is a past board member and chair of the Midland Junior Achievement, Midland Chamber of Commerce, and Commerce Center Management Corporation. He also is a past board member of the Delta College Foundation.
