It's that simple. You don't have to understand "accounting jargon" -- just know what you want to achieve. And if you're not exactly sure what benefit you're after, the questions will help guide you.

Benefit Categories for Organizations Examples of Benefit Areas
Operations Relates to effective and efficient use of an entity's resources. Operational areas where benefits might be sought include general management, expense control, revenue enhancement, performance improvement, systems management, etc.

Financial reporting Relates to the preparation of reliable financial information. Areas where benefits might be sought include recording transactions, preparing financial statements, reporting on financial statements, forecasts, projections, accounting research, etc.
