What is a business valuation?

A business valuation is the establishment of a value of a partial or entire interest in a closely-held business or professional practice. The factors taken into account are usually quantitative and qualitative, as well as the tangible and intangible factors related to the business being valued.

Who needs valuation services?

What groups benefit from valuation services?  In addition to businesses, the following groups often benefit from a valuation:

  • Individuals who want to start or purchase a business.

  • Retirement-minded business owners who are considering gifts to their children.
